Whose You Are

When you woke up this morning what was the first feeling you experienced?

Was it groans because the weekend was over and you didn't want to start Monday? Maybe anxiety because your to-do list is a mile long? The feeling of being overwhelmed because you're facing hard times? Was it the feeling of being inadequate because so and so...you know, that friend on FB who has such an amazing life and you will never be what she is or be able to do what she does?

"How does she do it? Gosh.... I'll never be good enough.... never accomplish all those great things. I wish I could have her life. It's so easy and fun."

Do you ever have those thoughts?

I do. It's not fun being in that mind set. So let me share a secret with you.... her life isn't perfect. She struggles just like me....maybe just like you.

There's a 1000 thoughts of what I will never do or who I will never be that flash through my mind each day.

I can't cook like so and so.....
I'm not as good of a mom or homeschool mom like her....
I'm not as smart or use as big of words as her....
I can't write like her.....
I will never be a real photographer....
I don't have all they have....
We can't afford what she can.....
I'll never sing like her....
I'll never be as pretty as her or have her shape of body......

STOP!!!!

Doesn't it get draining to have those thoughts? And we are going to have those thoughts but it's what we do with those thoughts that matter.

If in that moment those insecurities raise their sneaky little heads we lift them up to God and ask Him to purify our minds and hearts and speak HIS wisdom and truth into us we will be able to see ourselves as we were created to be!

We need to begin focusing on what we know is true:

• I am a child of God. (John 1:12)• I have been justified and redeemed.(Romans 3:24)
• I have been accepted by Christ. (Romans 15:7)
• In Christ Jesus, I have wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.

(1     Corinthians 1:30)
• I am no longer a slave, but a child and an heir. (Galatians 4:7)
• I have been set free in Christ. (Galatians 5:1)
• I am chosen, holy, and blameless before God. (Ephesians 1:4)
• I am redeemed and forgiven by the grace of Christ. (Ephesians 1:7)
• I have boldness and confident access to God through faith in Christ (Ephesians 3:12)
• The peace of God guards my heart and mind. (Philippians 4:7)
• God loves me and has chosen me. (1 Thessalonians 1:4)

God's desire is for us to have a life full and overflowing and it's not His plan for us to be consumed by what we can't do but what He can do in and through us!! He is all we need!!! So the next time you feel weak ask for His strength. When you feel you aren't good enough realize you were created by God for God!! He loves you and wants to strengthen you to be all He created you to be. He created you with a different purpose than anyone else!!! You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14)

So shake off all those, "I cant's" and "I'm nots" and get to knowing whose you are!! You are a child of the King!!!

I pray blessings on your life today and for you to feel the presence of Jesus so deep and to the fullest!!

  1. The best advice my sister has given me is, "Do not judge your inside by someone else's outside." From the outside we may look just like that person and you never know what that other person is going through. Thanks for your blog!
