Photography!!

I love it!

I love looking at beautiful pictures. People captured in such wonderful memorable moments! Mile stones of each age, sweet friends together, and couple in love, a beautiful bride, each anniversary, new babies, a child laughing and so many more moments in life are worth documenting with a picture! I've always been intrigued with cameras and photography but I couldn't afford a "good camera." I always had one that flashed like 3 times and by time it actually took the picture the person would have moved! ahhhh it drove me crazy! ha!

So, not quite 2 years ago I got a DSLR!!! Oh my goodness it opened up a whole new world of photography for me!! I took a class. Very basic. One day class. I thought it was good until I started talking to other photographers who shoot in mostly manual..... and realized the instructor said it wasn't necessary to learn manual... what? really? There's so much more room for creativity in manual! Anyway, I'm starting a new 6 week course tonight! I'm so excited!! I hope I actually learn something and don't walk out completely confused!

Until I learn something I'll continue to shoot in Aperture priority or Shutter priority. But I'm hoping to one day take breath taking pictures and not just decent pictures! I want to love looking at my work and not just flip through them. I'll love them because most of them will be of my girls and family and those whom I love but I want to take pictures that someone else will come across and stop. And soak it in. And make them think about the person they are looking at. I want to take pictures with emotion and beauty! I have a long way to go but I'm excited to get started!!

Here's a few pictures I took while practicing complete manual! I'm hoping this will mark the beginning of my journey w/ photography! Hopefully in a year I'll look back and see I've come a long, LONG way!
