Right Where I Belong

Yesterday was a lovely Mother's Day! The girls and Greg brought me breakfast in bed (that I cooked in the crockpot the night before! ha!) and a delicious cup of coffee! I got a card sweet Jada bought me and a gift certificate for a mani-pedi!! I think Greg forgot I already bought a purse for my mothers day gift! (shhhhhh)

I also got to hear one of my all time favorite Christian speakers and authors, Lysa TerKeurst. She is amazing and so easy to relate to. I did learn something new about her- she had to homeschool her 5 kids for two years since her two sons were from Africa and weren't on the educational level they needed to be for their age.

As she described her fear of failure and how she went into the closet to cry out to God I knew exactly where she was coming from. I know that exact fear and doubt. But she said, "I just needed to keep showing up."

Just show up.

So many times I've wrestled with God on this homeschool thing. What in the world was He thinking? Does He even know my insecurities and does He even know I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed? Why would He entrust the girls education to me? Of all people..... I'm the most under qualified mom I know!

He, in fact, knows me much better than I know myself.

And, He doesn't want me to be the brightest or the smartest....I wouldn't need Him. He doesn't need me to be totally confident in myself or I wouldn't need to have the confidence in Him. All He's asking me to do is show up and have faith in Him and only Him.

I'm more thankful than I could ever express in that truth because I know I will fail but He never....never.....NEVER will. He's all I need to get through the good days and He's all I need to get through those messy days.

I think God has me right where He needs me. Not only for the girls education but for my own education of who He is and how He is! Where He has me right now is not the place I would have chose on my own but since I've arrived in this spot, I've found there's nowhere else I would rather be!!

He is faithful!!

1 Thessalonians 5:24 "The one who calls you is faithful, and He will do it."

Isaiah 25:1 "Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago."
